A large 12' X 40' lighted billboard paid for by the victims and relatives of the military's anthrax vaccine program is on display starting today in Kokomo, Indiana at the intersection of U. S. Highway 31 Bypass North and Smith Road.
Military family members and relatives see the billboard as a way to reach out to the general public and veteran's communities for support to get the Pentagon to stop using the vaccine. The sign reads: "JOIN THE MILITARY. . . Take the Anthrax Vaccine. . . Risk Chronic Illness & Be Ignored. . . Tell Congress: Stop the Shots!. . . www.StopTheShots.org."
After evaluating several locations across the country, the billboard organizers chose Kokomo because of the extraordinarily large rally recently held there attended by some 300,000 veterans and their families. Also, half of the fighter pilots in the Indiana Air National Guard have resigned over the anthrax vaccine, and the location is visible 24 hours a day.
The billboard's message coincides with several significant developments this week:
