American Public Health Association  American Public Health Association's Governing Council has approved the following as one of its 41 new policies: (from APHA newspaper, The Nations Health, Dec.99/Jan.00, p. 20) "Urges the Department of Defense to delay any further immunization against anthrax using the current vaccine or at least to make immunization voluntary. Recommends that a commission of military and nonmilitary public health experts be formed to review evidence on effectiveness and safety of the current vaccine and to advise whether the current immunization program should be continued."
  4. Association of American Physicians and Surgeons   Click on testimony in left subject column. The AAPS written statement to Congressman Shay's committee is about item # 9 on the list of testimonies.
  5. Air Force Sergeants Association  Their actual letter takes a different approach in saying members of Congress should also get the vaccine if they support the program; that they are far more at risk.
